Educational Tour to Jaipur
Jaipur is one of the most vibrant and colorful cities of India, famous for its beautiful culture, its fairy tale forts, its palaces and lakes. The city got its name from the founder Maharaja Jai Singh II, the great warrior who ruled between 1693 and 1743. Its most striking feature is the pink color applied to the buildings, giving Jaipur its famous title, ” The Pink City “.

Here is an account of the recent visit to Jaipur by students of A.I.T.S. Read on to know all the fun and the learning experience the students had in this trip.
October 5, 2017 , Thursday , 1400 hrs , A.I.T.S. Campus
It had been a week since the sessional examinations ended and after a short break for Dussehra holidays, the students returned afresh to attend the college.
There was a huge buzz around the campus for the industrial tour. This tour was the idea of III Year B. Tech. C.S.E. students, Rudransh Saxena and Paras Chawla. They took this as an opportunity to explore the recent trends, latest technological advancements and different career aspects in the present day industries. The tour was also intended to rejuvenate the students by taking the learning atmosphere outside the classrooms. So, with the consent from the management and the administration, the tour was fixed and it was decided that students of A.I.T.S. from II and III Year classes of C.S.E. Department shall be visiting OweBest Pvt. Tech. Ltd., a premier IT industry located in Jaipur.
October 7, 2017, Saturday, 1500 hrs, AITS Campus
The trip was to be planned and coordinated by Rudransh Saxena and Paras Chawla. All the students were delighted to hear about the tour. The program saw heavy response from both the II Year and III Year classes. A large number of students showed keen interest for the visit. Faculty members Mr. Anurag Bhatt and Mrs. Preeti Pandey also agreed to accompany the students. The stage was all set and they were to head to Jaipur on October 9.
October 9, 2017, Monday, 1945 hrs , Kathgodam Railway Station
All the students arrived on the said time at the station with their luggage. Everyone around was very much excited for the journey to start. After searching for their respective seats, all the students settled down peacefully. Faculty members Mr. Bhatt and Mrs. Pandey took the attendance. At about 2040hrs, the Ranikhet Express departed from the station and the journey began. Some students were capturing the moments on their cameras while some were busy in playing Antakshari. Train journeys and that too with your friends usually prove to be too awesome. And that’s the reason why the environment was so soulful.
October 10, 2017, Tuesday, 1020 hrs, Jaipur Railway Station
After a long journey of about 12 hours, the Ranikhet Express finally reached Jaipur. The weather was quite warm . The group walked out of the train with the luggage. A pre-booked Deluxe bus was waiting for them at the station. The group was to stay at the Ruby Hotel in Jaipur which was booked previously.
October 10, 2017, Tuesday, 1300 hrs, The Ruby Hotel, Jaipur
The bus dropped the group at the hotel by 1300 hrs. The hotel staff welcomed the students wholeheartedly. The students were very much satisfied with all the services provided by the reputed 3- Star hotel .
The students then relaxed for a while in their rooms, since they were tired a lot due to the long train journey.
October 10, 2017, Tuesday, 1600 hrs, Jaipur City
It was now time for the group to see the beauty of the ‘ Pink City ‘.
At first, the students and the faculty members visited the Amer Fort and got to know about its history. Amer Fort is a mesmerizing combination of conventional Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, built in the 16th century. Rajputs made use of this fort from the 16th century up to the foundation of Jaipur in 1727, both for defense as well as residential reasons. Thus, within its strong walls one finds charismatic gardens and magnificent palaces made from marble and precious stones, richly festooned with intricate stonemason works and paintings. Inside Amer Fort is the Sheesh Mahal, a delightful hall of mirrors that are so artistically set that even a tiny ray of light gets replicated in the mirrors and illumines the hall flamboyantly. The students admired the beautiful work of the workers who built the fort. Most of the popular films like Jodha Akbar and Veer have been shot there .From there, they went to a see an art show which displayed the block printing .Some of the students bought some beautiful handicrafts also.
The next place to visit was the Jal Mahal which is located 6 kms from the Amer Fort. This is a 5 storey palace, out of which the first four floors are located under water. Only the top floor of this palace enjoys the sunshine and rain. Even after 200 years of construction, still its architectural beauty is the same as it was before. The Jal Mahal was built in the year 1799. This historical palace was built by Sawai Pratap Singh, and stands majestically as a supreme example of Rajputs architecture. This palace attracts lots of tourist because of its beauty and architecture.
The day passed by and few hours later, the students returned to the hotel. Since everyone was so exhausted due to the outing, all doze off to sleep.
October 11, 2017, Wednesday, 0800 hrs, The Ruby Hotel, Jaipur
It was the second day of the tour. The students woke quite early. After having the breakfast, the group went to visit OweBest Pvt. Tech. Ltd.
The company infrastructure was divided mainly into two sections, viz. the Training Section and the Programming section. The company representatives introduced the students with the new technologies used in the industries. They made the students aware of their working techniques and some of the prosperous projects which they were working on. Some of the students asked questions about programming methodologies, designing and testing, and the career aspects related to the firm. They all were happy with the positive feedbacks they received.
Again, the group set out to search some more beautiful sites of Jaipur.
One of them was the Birla Temple, a modern Lakshmi Narayan temple built in 1988 .This temple forms one of the most beautiful attractions of Jaipur. The fascinating exteriors of the temple are carved splendidly with beautiful sculptures based on mythological themes, while the interiors having a large marble panel portraying mythological events.
The other one was the Birla Planetarium. The M. P. Birla Planetarium, since its inception, has designed and presented to the public and students more than 350 astronomical projects dealing with many facets of astronomy like astro-physics, celestial mechanics, space science, history of astronomy, centenaries of famous astronomers as well as mythology concerning stars and planets. The students saw the space show there and came to know more about some unrevealed mysteries of space.
The group then visited the Albert Hall museum where lies a real mummy and many more ancient artifacts. They also went to the Bapu Bazaar which is one of the most popular bazaars of Jaipur, famous for drawing the highest numbers of shoppers. In the evening the students went for shopping to the Pink Square mall. The group returned to the hotel by 2200 hrs.
October 12 2017, Thursday, 0800 hrs , Jaipur City
It was the last day of the trip and all planned to enjoy as much as possible for their remaining stay at Jaipur.
The group went to the many popular forts of Jaipur like The Jaigarh fort and The Nahargarh Fort. The Jaigarh fort, rugged and similar in structural design to the Amer Fort, is also known as the Victory Fort. The fort features a cannon named Jaivana, which was manufactured in the fort precincts and was then the world’s largest cannon on wheels. The fort also showcases an armoury and a museum. The Nahargarh Fort stands on the edge of the Aravalli Hills, overlooking the city of Jaipur. Along with the Amer Fort and the Jaigarh Fort, the Nahargarh Fort once formed a strong defense ring for the city. The fort was originally named Sudarshangarh, but it became known as Nahargarh, which means ‘ The Abode of Tigers’. The students were mesmerized by the view from Nahargarh fort. The whole of the Jaipur City was visible from there since it is situated at a great height. And eventually, after this all went back to the hotel.
October 12 2017, Thursday, 1400 hrs, Jaipur Railway Station
It was now time to depart from Jaipur. The returning train was scheduled for 1420 hrs. So, everyone packed their luggage and reached the Jaipur station.
By the next morning, October 13, 2017, Friday, 0700hrs, the group was back to Haldwani.
The whole tour was an exciting and rewarding journey for all—a team building experience. It is sure that all of the students made some great memories over there to be cherished in future. For some, it was the first time they had an opportunity to journey beyond their home state.
This tour according to everyone was really very educative and indeed a memorable one.
