International Women’s Day Celebrations at Amrapali Group of Institutes Haldwani

Even the Gods honour the women. The Devi’s are revered even by them. Today, the women have walked out of the thresholds of domestic kitchen and have with great elan taken on the onus of business, medical science, education, administrative services, police, sports and even the political arena. Women in every sphere have flown the banner high. 8th of March is celebrated as International Women Day globally. The women in all sphere of life operate with the men folk. We are proud that our women folk of Uttarakhand are never a shade behind instead, they lead from the front.

Awardees during the Women Achiever Felicitation Programme

The success of the women was appreciated and they were honoured by Amrapali Group of substitute in a special programme organized in the campus. Padam Shri Anup Sah Ji was the Chief Guest and graced the occasion. The Programme commenced with the Lighting of the Lamps with ‘Saraswati Vandana. The Chief Guest was honoured with a wonderful bouquet and memento both presented by Shri Narendra Dhingra, Secretary AGI. Also a welcome bouquet was presented by Mrs. Bindu Chawla, Treasurer AGI to Mrs. Shah, wife of Chief Guest Shri Anup Shah. The Guest of Honour Dr. Mrs. Kusum Rautela, Director Higher Education Uttarakhand and Special Guest Dr. Rashmi Pant ACMO were also presented a bouquet by Mrs. Bindu Chawla.

Dr. Sanjay Dhingra, CEO AGI

Dr. Sanjay Dhingra, CEO AGI gave out the opening address. In his welcome Address he said, ‘It was a great privilege for him to honour the empowered women on this International Women’s Day”. In his speech, he highlighted the role of education in women empowerment. He stated that education was the greatest achievement even though it was not projected in the forefront. It empowers them, improves upon their financial status and uplifts their political and social presence. Dr. Dhingra said, that not only the family the society at large is incomplete without our esteemed women. Dr, Sanjay Dhingra in his opening address welcomed the chief guest Padam Shri Anup Shah Ji and said, that with his dedicated and extraordinary contribution he has made us all very proud. Shri Anup Shah Ji has projected Uttarakhand in a very beautiful and extraordinary manner which has been appreciated world over. Dr. Sanjay Dhingra lauded the elite guests and awardees and stated that it was a small attempt by the AGI family to honour the distinguished women. He also welcomed the media personnel and other distinguished attendees and assured that the AGI family will always continue to play a prominent role in the upliftment and empowerment of women.

Padam Shri Anup Shah Ji, Chief Guest

The Chief Guest Padam Shri Anup Shah Ji in his address to the audience said, that we must appreciate the nature and that children must continuously be in search of a of a new field. He said, that each student and individual must have a hobby which he must pursue rigorously. On this women’s day, he said that women specially mothers are a great source of inspiration. He said that the daughter are an invaluable investment for the parents and must therefore be looked after as such.

Dr. Kusum Rautela, Director Higher Education

Dr. Kumkum Rautela, Director Higher Education while addressing the audience said that it is not possible for the world to progress without the women involvement. She recalled the contribution of Savitri Bai Phule, and said that it was not conceivable for a successful society without the contribution of its ladies. She said that women should be greatly involved in the decision making and the development of the society. She emphasized that women empowerment was only possible when there is more awareness in them and they are even more involved into day and day functioning. This way they will carve their own identity and establish themselves as greater leaders.


Dr. Rashmi Pant, ACMO

Dr. Rashmi Pant, ACMO expressed her gratitude at this grand honour bestowed upon her and the other ladies. She said that, a women was the paramount creation of the God. She said, that all women should be in pursuit of excellence and should take on tasks willingly with additional responsibilities for the development of the society. Women, she said, were more tolerant as reflected during the COVID time as They exhibited great patience, determination and strength of body and mind to assist in the suppression of the pandemic. She said her hard work during this period is the reason for her recognition by the AGI Family.

A Poem penned by Prof. (Dr.) S. K Singh, COO titled “Sahas Karuna Mamta ki Tum Anuthi Kriti hu’ was also launched during the programme.
